A Dedicated Educator’s Journey

Scott Gibson, 49, dedicated nearly three decades to public education, impacting countless students and colleagues through his roles as a teacher, coach, and administrator. His career began in 1997 at Denton Ryan High School, where he served as a teacher and coach until 2004. He then taught world geography at Northwest High School from 2004 to 2006. In 2006, Gibson joined Argyle ISD as an assistant principal at Argyle Middle School (AMS), and in 2009, he was appointed principal, a position he held with distinction until his untimely passing.

Superintendent Dr. Courtney Carpenter reflected on Gibson’s influence, stating, “He was a dedicated and engaging leader who inspired staff and created a positive learning environment for his students.” Gibson’s passion for education was deeply rooted in his family; his parents, both educators, inspired him to pursue a career in public education.
